Our managers and assistant managers are always willing to help. We encourage you to call or come by either of our facilities. We'll be happy to give you a tour and answer any questions.

  • How do I get started?

    Choose one of the Kool Storage locations that is most convenient for you.

  • Do I have to rent in person or can I do it over the phone or by email?

    Kool Storage’s policy is to see every one of our tenants in person. We do not do contracts over the phone, through email, or mail. However, if you call us we can get some information over the phone to get you in and out of our office as quickly as possible.

  • What kind of documentation do I need to rent a unit?

    Kool Storage requires a government photo ID. We will take a driver’s license, a state ID, or a passport.

  • What sizes of units do you offer?

    We offer units from a 5x5 up to a 10x40. All of our units are indoors and climate controlled. You can check real time availability from each location’s area of the website.

  • How long are your storage leases?

    Our leases run month to month. We have no long term commitment or minimum term stay. Each term begins on the first of each month and ends on the last day of the month.

  • Do I need insurance?

    Just like an apartment complex, Kool Storage insures our building, but we do not insure the items you put in storage. We do not require proof of insurance, but we do highly recommend it. Most home owner’s or renter’s insurance will extend to storage, but we suggest you call your insurance provider to verify. We also offer insurance through MiniCo Insurance for your convenience.

  • If I rent a unit from you who can have access to it?

    For the safety of your items and the items other people store in our facility, we will not give out any information or allow access to anyone without an ID. The name on the ID must match the name on our contract. However, you are allowed to give your unit number, code, and your key to whomever you choose. We do strongly suggest you only give this information out to select people you trust completely.

  • When can I access my storage unit?

    As long as you are current on your payment, you can access the building every single day from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm. Just be aware, if you are inside the facility at 9:00 pm our codes stop working at that time. You are welcome to continue to work inside your unit, but you should make sure everything is put away and your unit is secure before entering the elevator. At exactly 9:00 pm our elevators will only take you to the first floor and will not allow you access to any other part of the building. The same is true for our entry doors. You may exit the building, but you cannot use your code to re-enter.

  • Do you have a moving truck?

    If you rent a 10x10 or larger we will help move you in for free. We will drive the truck to you, you load the truck, and we drive the truck to one of our locations. Ask us about details and dates available when you rent your unit.

  • Do you have hand carts or dollies I can use?

    We have multiple, heavy duty, hand carts for use at our facilities. Please be sure to return them to the first floor cart area so other tenants can utilize them too.

  • When are payments due?

    Payments are due on the 1st of each month and not considered late until the 5th. A $10.00 late fee is automatically assessed on the 6th and a $40.00 late fee is automatically assessed on the 14th of each month. As a courtesy we will waive one late fee a year.

  • How can I make a payment?

    Many of our tenants prefer to have their payment automatically debited from their credit card or debit card. However, we also will debit from a checking account. You are also welcome to set up a user name and password through our secure site and pay online with a credit card, debit card, or checking account. You are always welcome to come into the office and pay with Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, cash, money order, cashier’s check, personal check or business check. You can drop a payment through our payment slot after hours or call us with your credit or debit card information.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We take credit cards or debit cards from Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover. We also take checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, and of course cash.

  • Do you offer payment reminders?

    If you decide to enroll in our auto payment option, no reminder is needed. Your payment will automatically be taken on the first working day of each month. However, as a courtesy we do send out invoices on the 15th of each month reminding you that your payment will be due on the 1st. If we don’t receive your payment by the 5th then on the 6th we’ll send you a notice letting you know that you’ve been charged a $10.00 late fee and hopefully help you avoid the $40.00 late fee. We are more than happy to send these reminders via email, but will send them during regular mail if you prefer.

  • What happens if my payment is late?

    Your rent is not considered late until the 5th. On the 6th day a $10.00 late fee will be assessed. If your payment hasn’t been made by the 14th another late fee will be assessed of $40.00.

  • What is a storage auction?

    A storage auction is the last step in a long process when a unit has remained unpaid. Kool Storage believes in doing everything we can to help our tenants remain current. Our goal is to never have to actually auction a unit. We will do everything in our power to make sure that doesn’t happen. We only ask that you give us a call, talk to us about what’s going on, make a plan, and stick to that plan. We follow the letter of the law when it comes to auctioning units and it will never be a surprise. We will attempt to make contact via phone or email and will send you a letter via certified mail. Just be sure to always keep us up to date on your mailing address, phone numbers, and email, and of course call and talk to us to see what we can do to help you.

  • Do I have to give notice to vacate my unit?

    According to the Rental Agreement signed by each tenant you must give us notification at least 5 days prior to the end of the month you will be vacating.

  • What happens if I pre-paid and I need to move out sooner than I thought?

    If you have pre-paid your rent and are moving out of the unit, but have two units and are remaining in one, then we will move any unused rent to the remaining unit. If you have pre-paid rent and are completely vacating the facility we will move you out, request a check from our corporate office, and will mail a check to the address we have on file for any months that are completely unused.
